Coshell is a multiplayer AI coding agent. Your team shares cloud dev machines, called drives, and works with the agent in one live session. These are the 23 updates we shipped in July 2026.

Self-hosted drives install and configure the Claude runtime on their own. Claude Pro and Max sign-in and web previews are fully supported on self-hosted drives.
No spare machine? The self-host wizard and signup now offer one-click deploy templates for cloud providers such as Railway and Northflank. Deploy the template and the drive enrolls itself.
A new Plan tab shows the agent's plan as a live, structured document. Steps check off as the agent executes them, and you can start execution from the plan. Browse every plan in a project and jump to what changed since your last visit.
Plans are now a team surface. Each edit shows who made it, and a chip summarizes what changed since you last read the plan. Comment on any step; threads stay anchored as the plan evolves, and one click sends a comment to the agent as feedback.
Admins can now keep a drive powered off. The drive does not start for any traffic until an admin selects Start. Use this to pause a project without deletion.
When you archive a session, the change applies to your view only. Each member curates their own home screen. New activity on an archived session restores it automatically.
When you open a session on a sleeping drive, the app shows a clear waking state and reconnects the moment the drive is up. Drives that sleep on purpose stay asleep until you open them.
URLs now name the drive, and every session view resolves the drive that owns the session. Deep links land in the right place every time.
Bring your own machine and use Coshell for free. Plans now lead with self-hosting; managed drives remain the zero-setup option.
macOS binaries are now signed with a Developer ID, so installs pass Gatekeeper without warnings. The curl | sh install now supports current Debian and Ubuntu releases.
Managed drives ship with the common tools an AI agent needs out of the box.
When a new runtime version is available, admins see a notice in Manage Drive. One click updates the drive, with live progress.
Self-hosted drives keep their connection through idle periods and reconnect when the host machine wakes. Short drops show a quiet Reconnecting state instead of errors. Provider keys set in the dashboard sync to self-hosted drives automatically.
Deleting a drive asks for clear confirmation. The Members panel lets you set a role when you add someone, and owner and admin roles are protected from removal.
Run a Coshell drive on your own hardware. Enroll a machine from the dashboard in a few steps. The coshell host CLI connects outbound, so you do not need port forwarding or firewall changes. Your team gets the same multiplayer experience on a machine you control.
Self-hosted drives can now run inside a container. The setup wizard detects your container runtime, recommends resources, and prepares a bare Linux machine, including a fresh cloud VM, in minutes.
The Usage tab now shows live CPU, memory, and disk for your drives. New coshell host restart, logs, stats, and update commands operate a drive from the terminal.
You now receive a warning email before Coshell archives an inactive drive.
Free drives now pause cleanly when they reach the included hours for the period. A panel explains what happened and how to continue.
Connect a Claude Pro or Max subscription with a Claude Code setup token. Drives come with everything pre-installed, and the app shows the exact command to run. The docs cover the setup.
Start a session scoped to a folder from the file tree. Use the plus button or the context menu and select New session here.
The Providers tab shows which AI providers are connected to a drive, even while the drive boots. You can disconnect a provider you no longer need.
Open a drive in the browser, or attach from the CLI. Your whole team works in one shared live session.
